Window Film Case Study: ITV

One of television’s most familiar views is provided by the large expanse of glazing at The London Studios, home of the This Morning programme and the ITV Saturday Night Premier League Football Show. The glass which frames a window overlooking the River Thames in the heart of the Capital serves as a backdrop behind some of televisions most familiar presenters.

However excessive light and glare was making life very difficult for the studio technicians who were struggling to keep light levels within a required range whilst retaining the viewers perspective of the impressive river scene. Having considered the problem and discussed light level requirements with Sureguard Energy Services Ltd & Solartek Films Ltd they recommended the installation of non-reflective bronze 35 film.

The product – once installed satisfactorily – reduced visible light transmission by 64%, whilst still preserving the studio’s impressive view to the outside world.

This has been a problem for many years and one we have had to regularly adjust depending on the amount of glare transmitting through the glass from the sun. We can now forget the problem as the anti glare film does exactly what we were told it would do.
