This optical liquid crystal film material is applied to glass and changes it's visual appearance when an electrical current is activated. A simple ON – OFF mode switches the LCD Film or Glass from being clear (transparent) to frosted (translucent). In it's frosted state the glass becomes a high definition rear projection screen.
LCD Glass can alternatively be combined with a special reflective foil which traps a percentage of the projected light to be alternatively used as a high definition front projection screen. This solution can also be used as a dual projection surface where the image is displayed on both sides at the same time. LCD Glass can be custom made to replace existing glass panels in window frames, glass walls and partitions or as a stand alone screen which can be placed on a stand or suspended on cables.
The effect of the LCD Glass is a very minimal look which will blend easily into any architectural or contemporary environment, making it an ideal screen solution for historical buildings, churches, museums and modern day home or business environments.
Our LCD Glass uses a very fine liquid crystal polymer which has been specifically designed to improve its performance as a projection screen for video and advertising. Our PDLC Glass products are predominantly used for privacy, security and visual display applications.
