Window Film Case Study: Harrods
Harrods contacted Solartek expressing their concerns that the glazing above the main rear entrance was unsightly. This was due to having clear glass with shelving behind. Residents opposite had complained about the amount of light that was apparent at night from the shelf lights.
The problem was that access was not possible on the inside of the glass.
Solartek Films Ltd organised permits from Westminster Council for three consecutive Sunday mornings. This allowed Solartek’s preferred access company to supply a suitable boom lift with driver to gain access to the external surface of the glass.
Solartek then supplied and fitted blackout vinyl to the glass and sealed the edges with mastic. The unsightly view was hidden and complaints from the residents ceased.
Solartek took this problem off my desk and dealt with it from start to finish, letting me get on with my job.
